Frans van Heest

Frans van Heest serves as the Hoofdredacteur at ScienceGuide since January 2021, focusing on news topics related to politics, teaching, governance, and quality assurance. Additionally, Frans has been a volunteer trainer at TOM traningsbureau since July 2013, providing training on media policy and education quality to staff and students. Since January 2012, Frans has held the position of student panel member at the Netherlands-Flemish Accreditation Organization, involved in the visitation of educational programs and institutions. Previously, Frans worked as a freelance columnist for Foliaweb from August 2012 to January 2021, sharing opinions on higher education news. Frans's experience also includes serving on the supervisory board of Crea, conducting research for the history program Andere Tijden, and acting as a general board member for the ASVA student union. Frans holds a Master's degree in Nieuwste Geschiedenis and is pursuing another Master's degree in Geschiedenis from the University of Amsterdam.
