Geert Lavrysen

Geert Lavrysen is an experienced educator and administrator in the field of music and arts, currently serving as Directeur at Academie Haspengouw [Podium] since September 2019 and a Commissielid Toets Nieuwe Opleiding at NVAO since November 2018. Previously, Geert held significant positions including Directeur of Stad Hasselt's Stedelijk Conservatorium Muziek, Woord en Dans from November 2016 to June 2019, and Guest Professor at LUCA School of Arts from September 2009 to June 2019, where instruction focused on guitar pedagogy and educational organization. Geert also contributed leadership as President of VerDi Limburg from September 2012 to January 2019 and has held various board roles in arts organizations, including VerDi vzw and B-Classic. Geert's educational background includes a Master's degree in Music from Lemmensinstituut Leuven and a degree in Education Management from the University of Antwerp.
