NVAR
Hena Rashid serves as a Communications, Experience, and Engagement Specialist at NVAR - Northern Virginia Association of REALTORS® since May 2023, recognized as a three-time recipient of the Certificate of Excellence for exceptional performance and commitment to improvement. Hena completed the UX/UI program at Cornell University, focusing on creating a prototype that enhances association value. Previously, Hena worked as a Sales Associate at JOANN Stores from May 2018 to December 2022, where the role involved understanding customer preferences and collaborating with team members to meet sales targets. Hena holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Digital Studies from the University of Mary Washington, earned in May 2022.
NVAR
The Northern Virginia Association of REALTORS (NVAR) was established in 1921 as the Alexandria-Arlington-Fairfax Real Estate Board. With about 40 members, the association served a population of 60,250. Eighty-seven years later, NVAR has grown to more than 10,000 members who carry out a $16 billion real estate industry in a community of over 2 million residents. A premier local association, NVAR is one of the hundreds of associations that comprise the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), which boasts more than 1 million members. NVAR serves as The Voice For Real Estate in Northern Virginia and provides a variety of services to its members including educational opportunities, professional standards enforcement, market statistics, legislative reviews, issues lobbying, multiple listing and lockbox services, and more. The mission of promoting "the right to own, transfer and use real property" extends beyond Northern Virginia to serve a national and international community. NVAR assists struggling associations around the world, sharing knowledge about how the industry works in the US with real estate leaders from Peru, Poland, China, Russia, Ukraine, the Middle East, and other areas.
