Bogdan Lazar has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and companies. In 2004, they worked as a Design Engineer at Huro Supermold, where they designed plastic forming tools for the automotive market. Bogdan managed a project team and used CATIA V5 extensively.
From 2007 to 2013, Bogdan worked at EPFL as a Doctoral Assistant and later as a Post-doctoral assistant. Bogdan focused on research and development, particularly in the field of cutting force modeling for drilling of fiber-reinforced composites. Bogdan also participated in funded research projects, taught courses, and supervised master students.
In 2013, Bogdan joined Icoflex as a Senior R&D Engineer, responsible for providing innovative solutions to industrial customers and managing projects from proof-of-concept to integration. Certain solutions were offered directly to customers or proposed for research grants.
Starting in 2014, Bogdan co-founded SkAD Labs and served as the CTO/Co-founder and later as the CEO/Co-founder. With a focus on CAD software development, they managed projects, teams, and daily operations. Bogdan successfully released the Skeleton CAx v1.01 and led the company to secure funding for technology transfer.
In 2019, Bogdan joined idonus as a Sr. Engineer, where they contributed their expertise until 2020.
Currently, Bogdan is the Head of Product (AI) at NVISO, a role they took on in 2021.
Bogdan Lazar holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Manufacturing Systems and Robotics from EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne), which they completed between 2007 and 2012. Prior to that, they obtained a Master's degree in Computer Aided Design from Universitatea Politehnica din Timişoara in 2004. During the same year, they also participated in a Short-Term Exchange Program Graduate Level focused on Heat and Mass Transfer at Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology. Bogdan Lazar's educational journey began with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Material Science and Engineering, which they earned from Universitatea Politehnica din Timişoara between 1998 and 2003. Additionally, they obtained the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in January 2020.
