Manufacturing Engineer 4, Airbus Assembly at NWI Aerostructures

Dave Ellis has over 30 years of work experience in the aerospace industry. Dave started their career at The Boeing Company as a Sheet Metal Assembler and eventually became a Quality Assurance Supervisor. In 1999, Dave joined Triumph Aerostructures - Vought Aircraft Division, where they gained diverse experience in quality assurance, personnel management, process optimization, and customer interface. From 2015 to 2017, they worked as an Inspection & Test Supervisor at Quality Assurance: G650 Wing Assembly Start Up, responsible for managing inspection staff and assisting in the transition to 3D model-based definition. Dave then joined Triumph Aerostructures in 2008 as a Lean/6 Sigma Black Belt, where they underwent leadership training and certification projects to meet financial targets. Dave later moved to Triumph Group in 2017 as a Manufacturing Engineer 4 and continued to contribute to the company until 2020. Currently, Dave is working at TECT Aerospace Nashville as a Manufacturing Engineer 4, focusing on Airbus assembly.

Dave Ellis began their education in 1986 at Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology, where they pursued an Associate of Science degree in Airframe Mechanics and Aircraft Maintenance Technology/Technician. Dave completed this program in 1988. In the same year, Dave obtained a certification in Airframe and Powerplant from the Federal Aviation Administration. Following this, they attended Saint Louis University from 1988 to 1992, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautics.
