Corporate Environment Health Safety Manager at NWI Aerostructures

Philip Simon has a diverse work experience in the fields of environmental health and safety as well as human resources. Philip served as the Corporate Environment Health Safety Manager at NWI Aerostructures from September 2020 onwards, where they provided expert guidance on EHS compliance and preventative actions. Prior to that, they were the Environmental Health and Safety Manager at the same company from June 2018 to August 2020, responsible for ensuring compliance with regulations and making recommendations for program improvements.

Before joining NWI Aerostructures, Philip worked at Park Aerospace Corp. as the Manager of Human Resources and Environmental Health and Safety. In this dual role from March 2017 to May 2018, they managed HR functions, implemented new systems, and developed compensation programs. Philip also served as the Environmental Health and Safety Manager at Park Aerospace Corp. from March 2015 to May 2018, where they developed and implemented safety and environmental training programs.

Philip's career started at Via Christi Health as an Environmental, Health and Safety Coordinator from February 2011 to March 2015. In this role, they maintained knowledge of safety practices and managed required documentation.

Lastly, Philip has a extensive experience with the United States Air Force, where they served in roles related to supply management and education and training management from February 1997 to January 2011.

Philip Simon, CHMM, SHRM-CP attended Friends University from 2013 to 2014, where they earned a Masters of Science degree in Environmental Studies. Prior to that, they studied at Webster University from 2002 to 2004 and obtained a Masters of Arts degree in Human Resource Development. Before pursuing their master's degrees, Philip completed their undergraduate education at Southwestern College from 2000 to 2002, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Quality Management.

In addition to their formal education, Philip has obtained various certifications. In June 2020, they became a Certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM) through the Institute of Hazardous Materials Management. Philip also earned the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) designation from SHRM in January 2018. Furthermore, in August 2021, Philip obtained the International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety from NEBOSH. Lastly, in October 2019, they completed the NFPA 3000™ (PS): Active Shooter/Hostile Event Response; Plan, Respond, Recover Program Specialist certification from NFPA.
