Eliane van Dam

Eliane van Dam is a Programme Officer at NWO (Dutch Research Council) since October 2022. Previously, Eliane served as a Postdoctoral researcher at Ruhr-Universität Bochum from July 2020 to August 2022, focusing on the chemical properties of water during electrochemical processes, supervising students, teaching, and engaging in proposal writing and international presentations. Prior to that, Eliane was a PhD researcher at AMOLF from September 2015 to March 2020, specializing in water dynamics in complex solutions, culminating in a dissertation titled "Into the deep waters of emulsions and hydrogels." Eliane's early experience includes an internship at the Netherlands Cultural Heritage Agency, where new analytical methods were developed for art conservation, and another internship at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, which resulted in a highly awarded bachelor thesis on microbial biofilms. Eliane holds a PhD in Chemistry/Physics from the University of Amsterdam, an MSc in Chemistry from VU Amsterdam, and a BASc in Chemical Analysis from Hogeschool Leiden.
