Loes van Bree is a Program Officer at NWO (Dutch Research Council) since June 2019. Prior to this role, Loes served as a PhD Researcher at Universiteit Utrecht from May 2014 to November 2018, where research focused on lipid biomarkers in Lake Chala, culminating in a dissertation defense planned for June 2019, supported by the NESSC Gravitation Grant. Loes also gained research experience at NIOZ Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research in 2012-2013 and completed a lab traineeship at Universiteit Utrecht in 2011-2012. Loes holds a Master's degree in Biogeology and two Bachelor's degrees in History and Liberal Arts and Sciences, all obtained from Utrecht University.
