VP Of Engineering at NYC Ferry

Davi Smyth has extensive experience in engineering and marine transportation, currently serving as Vice President of Engineering at NYC Ferry since November 2021, where previous roles included Director of Engineering, Engineering Manager, and Engineering Project Coordinator. Prior experience includes a position as Senior Lecturer at State University of New York Maritime College in late 2021 and a Lecturer in Marine Transportation from August 2016 to November 2021. Davi's maritime career includes roles as Mate/DPO at SEACOR Marine, where expertise in the Safety Management System was developed, and as 3rd Mate aboard the Training Ship Empire State, responsible for training cadets in various maritime operations. Early career experiences included working as a deckhand and later as a Mate for Potomac Riverboat Company, managing duties across various vessel types. Davi holds a Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation from State University of New York Maritime College.

NYC Ferry

New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) is working with the Office of Mayor de Blasio to launch the NYC Ferry. The Hornblower Company has been selected as the operator of the NYC Ferry. The service will consist of five new ferry routes in addition to the existing East River Ferry Service (transitioning into NYC Ferry), all charging a fare of $2.75 and allowing transfers between routes.
