Gergely Kósa

Gergely Kósa has amassed a diverse range of work experience in the field of biotechnology and scientific research. Gergely currently holds the position of Process Development Scientist at Nykode Therapeutics since January 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Researcher at NMBU - Norwegian University of Life Sciences from April 2021 to December 2021, where they were involved in optimizing omega-3 PUFA (DHA) production and testing various substrates for fermentation. Additionally, they supervised PhD and MSc students and conducted at-line monitoring of fermentation using Raman and FTIR technologies.

Before joining NMBU, Gergely served as a Senior Research Associate at Eleszto Genetika for three months in early 2021. Gergely'sprevious role as a Scientific Researcher at Norsk institutt for vannforskning (NIVA) lasted from March 2020 to December 2020. Gergely also worked at Cytiva (formerly GE Life Sciences) as a Senior Research Engineer from February 2019 to February 2020.

Gergely's earlier work experience includes positions at NMBU - Norwegian University of Life Sciences, where they served as a Research Scientist from March 2018 to January 2019 and as a PhD Candidate from September 2014 to February 2018. Gergely also worked as a Senior Technician at Corbion from April 2013 to July 2014, as a Fermentation Engineer at BIRD Engineering from September 2012 to March 2013, as a Research Associate at Codexis from May 2009 to August 2012, and as a Sales Engineer at Sartorius Stedim Biotech from October 2008 to April 2009.

Overall, Gergely Kósa has built a broad foundation of expertise in biotechnology, encompassing roles in research, development, optimization, and monitoring of various processes.

Gergely Kósa holds a Master's Degree in Biotechnology from Budapest University of Technology and Economics, which they obtained between 2002 and 2008. Gergely went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biophysics at NMBU - Norwegian University of Life Sciences from 2014 to 2018. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained additional certifications including a Workshop on Getting started with Design of Experiments from the Royal Society of Chemistry in June 2023 and a Good Manufacturing Practice Training from Pharma Lessons in August 2018.
