Rich Allen is a physicist at NIST since June 1990, focusing on vibration calibration of accelerometers, laser- and reciprocity-based calibration of microphones, and wafer bond strength metrology within the Quantum Measurement Division. Rich Allen has previously engaged in research on microelectronics process characterization, metrology for three-dimensional stacked integrated circuits (3DS-IC), and served as Co-chair of the SEMI North America 3DS-IC Standards Committee. Additionally, Rich Allen has been a board member at Nymeo Federal Credit Union since June 2014 and was a NIST assignee to SEMATECH from May 2011 to May 2013, contributing to the development of standards for the 3D Community. Rich Allen's earlier career includes work at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where contributions included the development of CMOS Test Structures and a radiation monitoring chip for a satellite. Rich Allen holds a Master’s degree and a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an MBA in Business Administration from Columbia Union College.
