Consuelo Baraona

Consuelo Baraona is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in credit research and analysis. Currently serving as a Senior Analyst - Credit Research - Special Investment Officer at the New York State Insurance Fund since July 2023, Baraona manages a $1.5 billion portfolio of industrial credits through fundamental analysis and financial forecasting. Previously, as Executive Director for the New York chapter of We Are Mef, Baraona focused on empowering professional women in finance. A distinguished career at AIG as Vice President - Senior Analyst further established Baraona's expertise in sector and company risk analysis, while earlier roles at MetLife Investment Management included progressive responsibilities that enhanced credit selection and origination skills. Baraona holds an MBA in Finance from Columbia Business School and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Economics (Finance) from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
