Bill Flora is an award-winning design director and strategist with 30 years of experience in leading teams and delivering innovative products. For two decades, they worked at Microsoft, where they directed design projects for Xbox and Windows Media Center, and played a pivotal role in establishing the Microsoft "Metro" design language. Flora founded Tectonic, a strategic experience design firm, and served as CEO, collaborating with high-profile clients such as HBO, Amazon, and Samsung. Currently, they hold the position of Strategic Consultant and Creative Director at The New York Times, while also contributing as an Advisory Council Member and Instructor at the University of Washington. Outside of work, Flora enjoys planning trips to Iceland, skiing, and learning new banjo chords.
