Crystal Mainiero

Crystal Mainiero currently serves as the Associate Dean for Academic Planning and Innovation at NYU Grossman School of Medicine since March 2024 and as the Executive Director of the Institute for Innovations in Medical Education (IIME) at NYU Langone Medical Center since October 2013. In the role at IIME, Crystal leads a multidisciplinary team focused on enhancing education through innovative strategies and informatics, aiming to integrate patient care, research, and education. Prior experience includes serving as Chief Operating Officer for Associated Medical Schools of New York and the New York State Academic Dental Centers from January 2002 to October 2013, as well as roles at the Center for the Study of Asian American Health and the Institute for Urban & Global Health. Crystal holds a BA in Psychology from Baruch College and is pursuing a Doctor of Education in Innovation and Leadership at NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development, expected by May 2025.
