Mike Hargreaves

Mike Hargreaves is an experienced professional in the field of land transport and legal services, currently serving as the Deputy Director of Land Transport at Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency since March 2024. Prior to this role, Mike held multiple senior positions at WorkSafe New Zealand from January 2014 to March 2024, including Deputy Chief Executive of Strategy and Insights, General Manager of Better Regulation and Legal Groups, and Chief Legal Advisor. Additional experience includes serving as Manager of Legal Services (Litigation) at the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment from July 2012 to November 2013, and holding various roles at the Department of Labour from 2002 to 2012, culminating as Director of Litigation. Mike began a legal career as a Solicitor at Welsh McCarthy Barristers and Solicitors from 1998 to 2001.
