Cryptography Engineer at O(1) Labs

Joseph Spadavecchia has extensive work experience, starting with their current role as a Cryptography Engineer at O(1) Labs since March 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Akamai Technologies for over five years as a Principal Software Engineer, from November 2015 to February 2021. Before that, Joseph worked at Bloxx for seven years as a Senior Software Engineer, where they developed a highly scalable MITM HTTP/S proxy and gained commercial experience in security, SSL/TLS, and multi-threaded server development. Joseph also worked on high availability, antivirus, authentication, and general secure web gateway functionality. Joseph has research experience as well, having worked as a Research Assistant at The University of Edinburgh from May 2005 to December 2007 and at Stony Brook University - File Systems and Storage Laboratory from 2000 to 2002. Joseph started their career as a Software Engineer at Applied Visions, Inc. in 1999.

Joseph Spadavecchia has a strong educational background in the field of Computer Science. Joseph obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from the New York University - Polytechnic School of Engineering between 1997 and 2000. Following that, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computer Science at the Stony Brook University Graduate School from 2000 to 2002. Continuing their academic journey, Joseph completed another Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree, this time at The University of Edinburgh from 2003 to 2008. Throughout their education, Joseph focused on Computer Science, developing a deep understanding of the subject.
