Mariam Kenza Ali is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in environmental policy and advocacy. Currently serving as a Climate Program Officer at The David and Lucile Packard Foundation since November 2018, Mariam leads a $30 million transnational climate grantmaking portfolio and co-developed the Foundation's inaugural Grassroot Organizing Program. Previously, Mariam managed a global program for the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands that focused on the inclusion of Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities in wetland management, and held various roles that included consulting for NGOs on environmental issues and leading the World Heritage Conservation Team at IUCN. Mariam's educational background includes a Master of Science in Environmental Technology from Imperial College London and a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Anthropology from Smith College.
