Karen Gonzalez serves as the Director of Community Engagement and Experience at Oakland Roots Sports Club since July 2019, previously holding roles such as Experiential Marketing Manager and Membership Experience Executive. Gonzalez's experience includes participation in Coro Northern California's Women in Leadership Spring 2020 Cohort, and a role as WorkForce Partnerships and Engagement Lead at madeBOS, Inc., an AI-driven talent assistant firm. Prior to these positions, Gonzalez worked as an Operations & Sales Coordinator and Public Relations Representative at CARPET WIZARD, INC., and held community liaison roles with the United States Congress and California State Assembly. Additional experience includes recruitment coordination at Mi Pueblo Food Center and leadership as President of the Association for the Advancement of Latinos in Politics. Earlier contributions also involved assisting the Office of Councilmember, District 3 in San José. Gonzalez is pursuing a B.A. in Political Science from San Jose State University, where studies have been ongoing since 2006.
