Oakland Symphony
David Cheng is a Staff Research Associate at NCIRE - The Veterans Health Research Institute, with experience as a Clinical Research Coordinator in the Department of Surgical Service, Vascular, at the San Francisco VA Medical Center. Additionally, David holds positions as Assistant Principal Second Violin at the Oakland Symphony and as a Violinist at the Berkeley Symphony and Napa Valley Symphony. David has also worked as an IT Technician at FieldSolutions and as a Listening Test Participant at Dolby Laboratories. David has a background in music performance, biology, and photography, with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Case Western Reserve University.

In addition to presenting their own concerts and workshops, the OSC collaborates with many performing arts groups. Oakland Symphony Youth Orchestra Omid Zoufonoun, Youth Orchestra Principal Conductor The Youth Orchestra is recognized as an outstanding musical organization in Oakland and the San Francisco Bay area. Today it consists of over 100 talented music students aged 12 to 22 from throughout the region.
