Kate Sugarman

Kate Sugarman is the Deputy Network Superintendent at Oakland Unified School District, where responsibilities include managing the Teacher Growth and Development System, leading professional learning initiatives, and providing coaching for educational leaders. With previous experience as Co-Principal at Arise High School, Sugarman focused on developing performance assessment practices and enhancing college readiness among graduates. Additionally, Sugarman serves as a Leadership Coach for the Alameda County Office of Education, supporting administrators, and has a foundational background as a teacher at Brooklyn School for Global Studies and New York City Teaching Fellows. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts from Columbia University, a Master of Arts from Brooklyn College, and a Master of Education from Reach University.
