Alex Zimmerman

Alex Zimmerman is a seasoned professional in international education and book criticism, currently serving as the Director of International Education at Oakland University since April 2016. Concurrently, Alex has been a book critic for Kirkus Reviews and Publishers Weekly since 2011 and 2005, respectively, with over 30 published reviews focusing on political science, religion, and international affairs. Previous roles include International Programs Coordinator at the University of New Mexico, Project Coordinator at Cordoba Initiative, and teaching responsibilities at Instituto Cultural Peruano Norteamericano. Alex's early experience encompasses management and consultancy positions with South American Explorers and Democracy Council, as well as an internship with U.S. Senator Russ Feingold. Academic achievements include an MBA from the Universidad de Chiclayo and a master's degree from SOAS University of London, complemented by a BA from the University of Chicago.
