David Gram is an accomplished theatre educator and director currently serving as an Associate Professor of Theatre at Oakland University, where responsibilities include teaching undergraduate directing, dramaturgy, script analysis, and acting courses, along with directing mainstage productions and mentoring students. As the Producing Artistic Director for Renaissance City Repertory Theatre, David also engages in freelance theatre direction dating back to 1994, with notable acting roles in productions such as "Casa Valentina" and "The Taming of the Shrew." David's previous positions include Associate Artistic Director at Theatre Aspen, stage director roles at various educational institutions, and significant directing projects across multiple theatre companies. David holds an MFA in Theatre Directing from Boston University and a BFA from Simon Fraser University.
