David Stone

David Stone currently serves as Vice President for Research, Professor of Health Science, and Professor of Philosophy at Oakland University since August 2016. Prior to this role, David held various positions at Northern Illinois University from April 2006 to August 2016, including Associate Vice President for Strategic Innovation and Planning and Associate Professor of Public Health. David's experience also includes a fellowship at the American Council on Education from June 2014 to June 2015, and serving as Founding Director of the South East European Research Centre from 2003 to 2006. Additionally, David was the Founding Associate Director at the Pediatric and Adolescent Health Research Center at Tufts University from 1997 to 2000 and Director of the Boston Violence Prevention Project at Harvard School of Public Health from 1996 to 2000. David Stone earned a PhD in Interdisciplinary Philosophy of Science from Boston University, alongside multiple degrees in forensic psychiatry and public health.
