Valerie Dao

Valerie Dao currently serves as the Head of Strategy and Operations at Oben Health, a position held since November 2025. Prior experience includes serving as Senior Principal for Social Impact Funds at the American Heart Association from January 2021 to October 2025. Prior to that, Valerie worked at the Stanford Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society as Senior Program Manager, overseeing operations for the Civic Life of Cities research lab. Additional roles include Portfolio Director at A Better Chicago and Engagement Manager at Mission Measurement, where Valerie focused on social impact and capacity building. Valerie's career began as a Fulbright Scholar at the U.S. Department of State, researching human capital development in Saigon. Educational achievements include a B.A. in Political Science and Education from UC Irvine and a Master of Public Policy in Program Evaluation from the University of Chicago.
