Alonso Avila

Alonso Avila is an Information Literacy & Student Success Librarian at Oberlin College, where responsibilities include teaching information literacy classes, liaising with academic departments, and conducting workshops focused on social justice. Previous experience includes roles as Student Success & Outreach Librarian and Resident Librarian at the University of Iowa, where Alonso contributed to special collections and first-year seminar instruction. Additional background includes serving as a Graduate Assistant at the International and Area Studies Library, Special Education Paraprofessional, EFL Instructor in the Peace Corps, and various library and administrative positions. Alonso holds a Master of Science in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Spanish Language & Literature from Coe College.
