Jiann-Shiun Lai

Jiann-Shiun Lai is an accomplished biochemist with extensive experience in research and development within the biotechnology sector. Currently serving as Vice President of Research at OBI Pharma, Inc. since March 2014, Jiann-Shiun Lai leads research initiatives. Prior roles include Senior Director and Advisor for the Ministry of Economic Affairs' Department of Industrial Technology, where strategic planning for Taiwan's bioindustry was emphasized. Jiann-Shiun Lai also served as Director at the Development Center for Biotechnology, focusing on therapeutic antibody discovery, and as Principal Investigator at Academia Sinica, specializing in B cell development and cancer cell recombination. Earlier academic contributions were made as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Educational background includes a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Stony Brook University, a Master's in Microbiology and Immunology from National Yang Ming University, and a Bachelor's in Plant Pathology/Phytopathology from National Taiwan University.
