Dale Sakai began their career in 1984 as a Corporate Director at IBM, where they were involved in the corporate restructuring of the 90s and led a corporate-wide redefinition/restructuring of "product management." In 1993, they joined Aspen Group as a General Partner, where they revitalized small to medium sized technology companies with an emphasis on strategic market repositioning and operational restructuring. In 1995, they were recruited by Kleiner Perkins to Active Software as their CSO, where they identified optimal solution offerings and repositioned the Java Fund company. Dale then worked with industry analysts to define and establish the Application Integration market, positioning Active Software as a leader in Enterprise Application Integration (EAI). In 1998, they were recruited by Mayfield Fund to Confer Software as their CEO, where they repositioned and relaunched the company as a leader in the emerging eHealth market. Dale raised $45M+ with Goldman Sachs as the lead investor. In 2003, they joined The Incyte Group as their Managing Director, where they utilized analytic Strategic Planning approaches to help the world's leading technology companies, private equity firms and venture capital groups increase valuation by optimizing strategic plans. Finally, in 2016, they became a Co-Founder of Obo, Inc., a product decision system that guides users to make the best decisions about product plans and roadmaps.
Dale Sakai holds a Master's Degree from Stanford University Graduate School of Business, a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from Stanford University, and a Bachelor's Degree in Physics from Amherst College.
