Visnu Pitiyanuvath

Visnu Pitiyanuvath has extensive work experience in the field of engineering. Visnu started their career as a Research Fellow at Duke University in 1998. Visnu then worked as a Software Engineer at guru.com, where they helped develop a resume-job matching engine. guru.com was later acquired by Unicru. Visnu continued working as a Software Engineer at Unicru until 2005, and during this time, they also worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Grand Central in 2005.

In 2006, Visnu joined Swivel, where they started as an Engineer and eventually became the CEO. Swivel is a website where people share reports of charts and numbers. Visnu held this position until 2010.

After leaving Swivel, Visnu worked at Fortnight Labs as a Partner, providing consulting services to small companies for website and mobile application development. Their primary client at Fortnight Labs was Sequoia Capital.

In 2012, Visnu joined Square as an Engineer, where they helped businesses handle credit card processing and provided complete solutions. Visnu stayed with Square until 2014 and then joined Opendoor as an Engineer. At Opendoor, they eventually became an Engineering Manager and contributed to their mission of buying and selling homes at great prices. Visnu worked at Opendoor until 2019.

Most recently, Visnu joined Observable in 2019 as an Engineer.

Visnu Pitiyanuvath completed their high school education at Shawnee Mission South from 1994 to 1996. Following that, they attended Duke University from 1996 to 2000 where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
