Andy Artz

Systems Designer at Obsidian Entertainment

Andy Artz has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Andy started their career as a Game Tester at Bowen Research from April 2004 to May 2008, where they not only tested games but also provided input on game development decisions. Andy then worked as a Game Tester at Disney Interactive Studios from April 2007 to September 2008.

In 2009, Andy took on the role of a Sales Associate at Paws, a mom and pop pet store, where they handled various tasks such as operating the cash register, stocking shelves, handling shipments, and interacting with food company representatives. Andy remained with Paws until June 2012.

Andy then joined Esri in June 2015 as a Software Product Release Intern, where they built a touch-screen demo application, helped create test plans for 3D functionality, and wrote manual functional tests. Andy concluded their role in September 2015.

Since November 2015, Andy has been associated with Obsidian Entertainment. Andy initially worked as a Quality Assurance Engineer, contributing to several projects such as Pillars of Eternity, Pathfinder Adventure Card Game, Tyranny, Pillars of Eternity 2, The Outer Worlds, and an unannounced title. In this role, they resolved low-risk bugs using Unity and Unreal, completed test plans and test cases using Jira.

Later on, Andy was promoted to the position of Junior Systems Designer and is currently serving as a Systems Designer from June 2021.

Andy Artz attended Crafton Hills College from 2010 to 2012, where they pursued a field of study in Computer Science. Following this, they enrolled at California State University-San Bernardino from 2012 to 2015, where they attained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Systems - Game Development.
