James Kang

James Kang's work experience is as follows:

James is currently working at Obsidian Therapeutics as the Vice President and Head of Intellectual Property since April 2022. Prior to this role, they worked at Takeda from May 2020 to April 2022 as a Senior Counsel, focusing on IP. James also served as a Patent Counsel at GSK from May 2016 to May 2020. Previously, they held positions as an Associate at Chiesa Shahinian & Giantomasi PC and Gibbons P.C., both in the field of Intellectual Property. James started their career at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in 2005 as an Associate Scientist and later became a Patent Liaison and a Research Associate IV. James worked at Centocor as an Associate Scientist from 2005 to 2007.

James Kang received a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Biology from Brandeis University in 1998. James then obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 2004. From 2008 to 2012, they attended Rutgers Law School and earned a Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree. Additionally, James Kang holds certifications as an Attorney in the states of New York and New Jersey, an In-House Counsel from the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers, and a Registered Patent Practitioner from the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
