Anku Madan

Anku Madan is a Principal at Obvious Ventures, a venture capital firm focused on early-stage, purpose-driven entrepreneurs in sectors including planetary, human, and economic health, since January 2024. In addition to this role, Anku has been an angel investor since May 2021, backing companies like Mission Barns and Captura. Previously, Anku served as a Principal at Hitachi Ventures from July 2020 to January 2024, investing in startups across various industries with a total asset management of $600 million. Prior experience includes positions at Plug and Play Tech Center, Propel(x), Undercover Colors as Co-Founder and former Chief Science Officer, and internships at Cofounders Capital and NASA Glenn Research Center. Anku holds a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science and Engineering from North Carolina State University and an incomplete Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science from Duke University.
