Derek Hoy

Derek Hoy possesses extensive experience in the aerospace industry, specializing in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and TIG welding for turbine components. Currently serving as the Responsible NDT Level III at Oerlikon since June 2014, Derek oversees specification reviews, procedure updates, and conducts audits, while also providing training for Level II inspectors. Previous roles include NDT PT Level III and TIG welding process at Sulzer Metco Eldim, as well as TIG welder positions at both Wood Group and Foodmek Limited, where foundational skills in welding were developed during a four-year apprenticeship. Derek's qualifications and certifications encompass various industry standards related to aerospace manufacturing.
