Roland Fischer is the current CEO of Oerlikon Group. Roland was previously with Siemens from February 2008 to February 2016 on what is known as "Garden Leave." This is a type of leave where an employee is still technically employed, but is not allowed to work during this time. Prior to that, they were with MTU Services (M) Sdn. Bhd. from February 2000 to February 2002 as General Manager. From there, they went to MTU Aero Engines from February 2002 to November 2007 as Leiter Fertigung & Maintenance Militärische Triebwerke. Roland's final position at MTU Aero Engines was Assistant to the CEO from February 1990 to January 2000.
Roland Fischer's educational career began with him earning their Abitur from the Technisches Gymnasium Sigmaringen. Roland then went on to study Luft- und Raumfahrttechnik at the University of Stuttgart, where they earned their Diplom-Ing. Finally, they earned their Dr.-Ing. in Luft- und Raumfahrttechnik from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).
