Occidental College
Stephen Cabell is an accomplished educator and composer with extensive experience in music theory and composition. Since January 2018, Stephen has served as an NTT Visiting Assistant Professor at Occidental College, focusing on theory. Concurrently, Stephen holds roles as Composition Faculty and Program Coordinator at the Mostly Modern Festival since August 2017, and as faculty at the Atlantic Music Festival, providing composition instruction to students at various educational levels since June 2009. Previous teaching positions include lecturer in Aural Skills at Chapman University and teaching assistant at the University of Southern California. Stephen's teaching experience also extends to the Manhattan School of Music Precollege, Lucy Moses School, and Kaufman Center's Young Artist Program. Stephen's academic credentials include a Doctor of Musical Arts in Composition from the University of Southern California, a Master of Music from The Juilliard School, and a Bachelor of Music from the Curtis Institute of Music, along with a High School Diploma in Composition and Horn from Interlochen Arts Academy.
