Senior Design Engineer at Occuity

Jamie Serjeant started their work experience in 2015 as a Design Engineer Intern at Dyson, where they achieved the highest grade, invented and optimized a magnetic clutch, and developed CAD techniques. They also served as the President and Creative Director at the University of Bristol Snowsports Club, implementing rebranding and sustainable clothing initiatives. In 2017, Jamie co-founded Sculpted ||| 3D Printing with Plastic Bottles, raising funds for a 3D printer to create affordable furniture from recycled plastic. As a Product Design Engineering Intern at Apple in 2018, they gained experience in product design. Jamie worked as a Freelance Consultant at snowcarbon.co.uk, focusing on revamping business systems, website design, campaigns, and social media management. At Dyson, they worked as a Graduate Design Engineer and later as a Design Engineer, contributing to projects such as air purifying headphones and emergency ventilators for Covid-19. Currently, Jamie is serving as a Senior Design Engineer at Occuity, working on the development of AX1, a non-contact axial length meter for myopia screening in children.

Jamie Serjeant attended the University of Bristol from 2013 to 2018, where they earned a Master of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering. In addition to their formal education, Jamie obtained additional certifications, including New Manager Foundations from LinkedIn in March 2021, Siemens NX: Design for Injection Molding from LinkedIn in June 2020, and Siemens NX: Surfacing from LinkedIn in May 2020.
