Deborah Fauquier is a Senior Scientist at Ocean Associates, Inc., working as a contractor in the Marine Mammal Health and Stranding Response Program for the National Marine Fisheries Service since February 2013. Prior to this role, Deborah served as a Knauss Sea Grant Fellow at the National Marine Fisheries Service from February 2012 to January 2013 and held various positions at Mote Marine Laboratory, including Adjunct Scientist and Deputy Program Manager from 2002 to 2012. Deborah's experience also includes work as a Field Veterinarian for several governmental and non-profit organizations, as well as roles at The Marine Mammal Center, UC Santa Cruz, and Pelican Man's Bird Sanctuary. Academically, Deborah holds a PhD in Ocean Sciences from the University of California, Santa Cruz, along with a Master of Preventive Veterinary Medicine and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of California, Davis, and a Bachelor's of Science in Biology with a focus on Marine Biology from San Francisco State University.
