Michelle Berrey

Dr. Berrey currently serves on the Board and Executive Committee for the North Carolina Biotechnology Center and is on the Scientific Advisory Board for ViiV/GSK.

Dr. Berrey served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Chimerix (Nasdaq: CMRX) from April 2014 to February 2019, after joining Chimerix as Chief Medical Officer in November 2012. Dr. Berrey served as Chief Medical Officer for Pharmasset, Inc. (Nasdaq: VRUS) from January 2007 to January 2012 when it was acquired by Gilead (Nasdaq: GILD).

Prior to that, Dr. Berrey led the clinical development of antiviral products at GlaxoSmithKline from August 1999 to January 2007. She was a Senior Fellow in Infectious Disease Medicine at the University of Washington and completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
