Robert Waters is an experienced marine facilities manager and ROV engineer currently overseeing operations at Ocean Exploration Trust since March 2012, where responsibilities include managing facilities at AltaSea and maintaining ROV systems. Additionally, Robert has served as the Chief Pilot and Expedition Leader for the DSV Alvin at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution since March 1996, ensuring safe at-sea operations and training for a team of pilots and technicians. Robert has expertise in ROV piloting, electronics engineering, and project logistics, having also provided ROV piloting services for Schmidt Ocean Institute and managed electronics systems at Cubic Defense Systems. Educational background includes studies at San Diego Mesa College from 1983 to 1988.

The Ocean Exploration Trust (OET) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to exploring the ocean, seeking out new discoveries in the fields of geology, biology, maritime history, archaeology, and chemistry while pushing the boundaries of engineering, technology, education, and communications. We aim to share our story and our science with explorers via live telepresence from aboard Exploration Vessel Nautilus and around the world in order to inspire people to care about the oceans and excite the next generation of explorers.
