Denys Yermakov has extensive experience as a Chief Engineer, with roles in various maritime companies. Denys most recently worked at Ocean Independence, starting in 2021. Previously, they held the position of Chief Engineer at BOURBON from 2014 to 2021, where they were responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of machinery and equipment. Denys also worked as a Referent Chief Engineer at BOURBON from 2019 to 2021, focused on mentoring and supporting fleet performance. Denys has also worked as a Chief Engineer at Topaz Energy and Marine in 2021, SEACOR Holdings Inc. in 2019, TOS - Energy & Maritime Crew from 2018 to 2019, West African Ventures Ltd from 2012 to 2014, Sea Trucks Group STG from 2011 to 2012, URS nv from 2006 to 2010, and Alpha Ship GmbH & Co from 2002 to 2006.

Denys Yermakov earned a master's degree in Marine Engineer from the Odesa National Maritime Academy from 1996 to 2002. In 2016, they obtained a Certificate of Associate Fellowship from The Nautical Institute. Additionally, Denys has obtained multiple certifications in various fields, including High Voltage Course (Management Level) from Lerus Group in 2020, Endorsement First-Class Engineer from Ukraine in November 2020, and Basic safety training and instruction (regulation VI/1 of the STCW-95) from Ukraine Seafarers Training Centre in October 2020, among others.
