Amir Banifatemi

Amir Banifatemi is an advisor at Ocean Protocol. Amir was previously the global head of the Initiative on AI and Data Commons at the World Economic Forum, where they remain as a senior advisor. Amir is also a founding partner of the Institute for Ethical AI & Machine Learning, an advisory firm that helps organizations navigate responsible development and deployment of AI.

Banifatemi has over fifteen years experience in the technology industry. Amir was the president of Agendize, a market leader for call-to-action and measurement services, from October 2004 to November 2005. Amir then served as vice president of marketing and business development at Critical Path Inc., from April 2002 to September 2004.

Banifatemi has also been involved with several startups and venture capital firms. Amir was a board member and president of Tech Coast Angels, the largest angel investment organization in the United States, from May 2010 to December 2020. Amir is also a founding partner of K5 Ventures, a venture capital firm that invests in early-stage technology companies, and a founding member of TEDxLA.

Amir Banifatemi has an MBA from HEC Paris, a Doctorate in Information Systems from Université René Descartes (Paris V), an MS in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Université de Technologie de Compiègne, and a DEUG in Sciences from Université Paris Sud (Paris XI). Amir also has an International Baccalaureate from lycée razi.
