Cassandra Brooks

Cassandra Brooks is an accomplished academic and science communicator specializing in international ocean policy and marine protection, particularly in the Antarctic region. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado Boulder since 2017, Cassandra has also held significant roles, including Science Facilitator for Homeward Bound Projects and Deputy Chief Officer of the Standing Committee on the Antarctic Treaty System under the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research. With a PhD candidacy at Stanford University focusing on the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources, Cassandra's expertise is augmented by past experience as News Director for The Last Ocean and Research Technician for US Antarctic Marine Living Resources.
