Ocean Visions
Cassandra Brooks is an accomplished academic and science communicator specializing in international ocean policy and marine protection, particularly in the Antarctic region. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado Boulder since 2017, Cassandra has also held significant roles, including Science Facilitator for Homeward Bound Projects and Deputy Chief Officer of the Standing Committee on the Antarctic Treaty System under the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research. With a PhD candidacy at Stanford University focusing on the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources, Cassandra's expertise is augmented by past experience as News Director for The Last Ocean and Research Technician for US Antarctic Marine Living Resources. Educational credentials include a BS in Biology from Bates College, an MS in Marine Science from California State University, Monterey Bay, and a Graduate Certificate in Science Communication from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

We facilitate multisector collaborations from within our Network and beyond, working with leading research institutions, the private sector, and public-interest organizations to fully explore and advance responsible and effective ocean-based climate solutions. In short, we work to stabilize the climate and restore ocean health.
