Jyra Rancel Banta

Jyra Rancel Banta, EnE MEMP, is an experienced mining engineer currently serving at OceanaGold Corporation since August 2023, focusing on both operations and business improvement through data-driven studies and financial analysis for optimization projects. Prior to this role, Banta was a faculty member at Saint Louis University from January 2022 to July 2023, where an extensive Mining Engineering curriculum was developed and student research projects were directed. Additional experience includes roles as a part-time instructor with TÜV Rheinland Group and project researcher at the Department of Science and Technology, alongside being a graduate scholar known for contributing to regional research and development. Banta's early career included an internship at Philex Mining Corporation and culminates in a Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering from the University of the Philippines and a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from Saint Louis University.
