Stewart Buchanan

Stewart Buchanan has a rich and diverse work experience in various industries. Stewart started their career as a Vacation Student at One Eighty Degrees Engineering Solutions in 2010. Stewart then joined Anglo American's Graduate Development Programme, where they held multiple roles, including Research Metallurgist and Ingeniero de Control de Procesos. Later on, they worked as a Senior Metallurgist at Anglo American's Rustenburg Base Metals Refinery, managing optimization projects and coordinating large teams. Stewart then moved to Deloitte Chile, where they worked as a Consultant in infrastructure and capital projects, focusing on project finance, financial modeling, and contract structuring. Their next venture was with Scotiabank, where they held different roles such as Credit Solutions Manager, Associate Corporate Finance, Corporate Banking Associate in the mining and metals sector, and Investment Banking Associate. Currently, they are the Director of Business Development at OceanaGold Corporation.

Stewart Buchanan obtained a BSc.Eng in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cape Town from 2008 to 2011. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at the South African College High School from 2002 to 2006, earning a Senior Certificate. Additionally, they passed Level 2 of the CFA Program from the CFA Institute in 2014.
