Diane Tarte is a seasoned professional in marine ecosystem management, currently serving as the Director of Marine Ecosystem Policy Advisors since January 2000, and as the Chair of the Board of Directors for TierraMar since February 2021. Diane has held various leadership positions, including Non Executive Director at Alluvium Consulting since April 2019, and Member of the CSIRO Oceans and Atmospheric Advisory Committee since 2016. Past roles include Independent Chair of the Dry Tropics Partnership for Healthy Waters and the Mackay Whitsunday Healthy Rivers to Reef Partnership, as well as Chair of the South East Management Advisory Committee for the Australian Fisheries Management Authority. Diane is also recognized for contributions as a former Chair of the Ecosystem Reef Advisory Committee for the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority and Chair of the Steering Committee for the Tropical Ecosystems Hub of the National Environment Program. Diane holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from the University of Queensland, obtained between 1967 and 1971.

OceanEarth Foundation (formerly TierraMar) is an Australia based conservation charity working to build resilient communities and reverse nature loss by helping to unlock transformational change. We work globally with a focus on Australia, the Pacific, and the Coral Triangle to unlock new and innovative thinking, approaches and collaborations, foster tomorrow's change makers and enable community led action on the ground. We help people and communities unlock that transformational change to build their resilience and reverse nature loss.
