Joana Martins is a Project Manager at Oceano Azul Foundation, active since January 2022, where responsibilities include managing the Blue Network axis, fostering partnerships, and engaging in international initiatives and political forums to advance the global ocean agenda. Prior to this role, Joana served as the Commissioner of Promotions on the Fundraising Committee for Unicef Student Team Delft from September 2019 to September 2021. Joana is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Law and Economics of the Sea at NOVA School of Law (2022-2024) and holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science with a specialization in International Relations and Organisations from Leiden University (2018-2021). An International Baccalaureate Diploma was attained at Oeiras International School from 2015 to 2017.

Oceano Azul Foundation
Oceano Azul Foundation funds education, conservation, and capacity building initiatives, while also actively supporting and participating in ocean science and research. Based in Lisbon, Portugal and connected integrally to the Oceanário de Lisboa, the Foundation strategically partners with a blue network of policymakers, other foundations, NGOs, sustainable businesses, and academic institutions to magnify our impact and create a unified movement of change towards ocean conservation. The Foundation works to inspire a Blue Generation, value our vital Blue Natural Capital, and strengthen a Blue Network. Oceano Azul Foundation operates on a national and international scale to serve as a voice for the ocean and build a movement for a sustainable future.
