Omario Ekpenisi Osikpemi Ikpomwobanoba is a Civil Engineering Construction specialist, and Project Management Professional with vast experience in Construction & Project Advisory for over two decades.

He is passionate about Infrastructure Project Development and Related Services and is always willing to be a part of any initiative that is focused on delivering excellence and expected impact where he is known to always introduce innovative custom solutions to solve everyday challenges as they come.

He is experienced in the management of resources with a demonstrated history of working in the built and natural environment, and a qualified chief executive with experience in overseeing the daily activities of organizations. Well-educated in civil engineering and engineering management, he’s got a strong ability to solve complex company challenges using excellent judgment, decision-making, and leadership skills.

He has the continuous and progressive experience and has been involved in several projects of varied complexity which has helped to provide him the exposure and extensive hands-on experience in the initiation, development, execution, operation, and management of critical infrastructure projects in Africa. Also, he has over the years continuously pursued self-development to sharpen his skills and capabilities in a versatile and evolving global landscape.

Having started his career from a humble beginning as a site engineer in Nigeria (Port Harcourt, Rivers State) and has gone up the professional path in several positions where he has led his team to remarkable achievements from the construction of civil works in the National Integrated Power Project (NIPP) to the construction of several kilometers of roads across every part of west Africa, he is well skilled in infrastructure development and related services in the built and natural environment in Africa with lots of verifiable projects in his portfolio. He has had the opportunity to be part of or lead an executive management team and be in a senior management role where he has made significant contributions while developing his leadership skills yet further.

As the Group President & CEO of the Oceanswerk Group, he is responsible for clients’ and stakeholders’ management, and project delivery across a range of infrastructure projects from roads, airports, buildings, wastewater, flood control systems, and transit systems development, to urban and new town development.

His motivation has been his passion for developing and managing infrastructure to bring about sustainable economic development and regional integration in Africa.

His Personal attributes and Skills include Excellent personnel and human resources skills, including knowledge of procedures for providing superior customer service and a productive and comfortable work environment for employees; Highly proficient negotiation and persuasion skills make it easy to come to agreements and persuade people, organizations, and vendors to meet the company in the middle; and Ability to identify complex problems and use critical thinking skills to implement plans for overcoming those problems for the company’s benefit.

He is a Certified Construction Manager (CCM), Project Management Professional (PMP), and a Certified Civil Engineer in Nigeria (COREN). He is a Fellow and Member of several prestigious organizations including the Institute of Directors (IoD) – Nigeria & UK, the Association for Project Management (APM), the Institute of Management Consultants (IMC), Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the American Society of Engineers (ASCE), the Project Management Institute (PMI), Construction Management Association of America (CMAA), Nigeria-British Chamber of Commerce (NBCC), and an alumnus of the prestigious University of Benin (Nigeria) where he got his bachelor’s and master’s degree.

He is married and blessed with children.
