Nicole Klassen Ellington leads innovation and improvement activities at OCHIN. In her role, Nicole oversees OCHIN’s Innovation & Enhancement Projects, Preferred Technology Partner Implementation, Internal Tools Development, Quality Improvement, Evaluation & Analysis, and Virtual & Integrated Care teams. She is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and continually improving third-party technology partnerships, technical initiatives, and integrations related to enhancing OCHIN’s hosted electronic medical record (EMR) software. Nicole has also led OCHIN’s efforts in building one of the most technically advanced instances of Epic in the nation, as evidenced by attaining Epic Gold Stars Level 10 two years in a row, as well as multiple Epic Honor Roll awards and Epic Connect Accreditation.
She originally joined the OCHIN team in 2016, after more than eight years at the Department of Veterans Affairs in Washington, DC, serving as an attorney, Acting Veterans Law Judge, and operational leader. She holds a BA from the University of Texas in Austin and a JD from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, and is admitted to practice law in Oregon, Texas, Wisconsin, and Illinois.
