Amy Parrish

Vice Chair at Oconee County Schools

Amy Parrish was appointed to fill the vacant post 2 position on July 18, 2016.

Mrs. Parrish is a Senior Wealth Advisor with Highland Trust Partners. She has worked as a trusted financial advisor to families and businesses since 1992.

Specifically, Amy specializes in financial planning, estate planning, planning for transitions, strategic wealth distribution, charitable giving strategies, asset allocation and the evaluation of investment managers.

Amy received her Bachelor of Arts degree in political science with a concentration in global policy studies from the University of Georgia

Amy and her husband Bob have lived in Oconee County for 9 years. They have two children, Lindsey and Brooks. Lindsey graduated in 2021 and Brooks is a sophomore. As a family, they are actively involved in their church, Athens First United Methodist. Amy has been and continues to be active in helping her community. She is a Past President for the Junior League of Athens, Athens Area Cancer Auxiliary, L.E.A.D. Athens Steering Committee and Prevent Child Abuse Athens. She is a graduate of Leadership Athens and had a past appointment to serve on the Child Protective Services Statewide Citizen’s Review Panel. Currently, she serves as chair of the Oconee County Rotary and the chair of the Oconee Chamber of Commerce Economic Education Committee.

Mrs. Parrish hopes to follow in the footsteps of her mother, who was a passionate advocate for children throughout her life. During the interview process, Mrs. Parrish emphasized keeping a balanced budget, communicating with parents, reaching out to the private sector for career building and maintaining parity among all schools. “I think it’s important that we promote a one-community system with many schools and opportunity for all,” she wrote in her application.
