Hicham Fenniri has extensive experience in academia, research, and leadership roles. Hicham is currently a Professor and Director of Research and Innovation at UM6P - Mohammed VI Polytechnic University. Prior to this, they served as Vice President and Scientific Director at Fondation MAScIR. Hicham also held the position of Chief Science and Technology Officer (SBU-LRI) at OCP Group.
Hicham Fenniri's academic career includes being a Professor of Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Chemistry, and Chemical Biology at Northeastern University from 2013 to 2022. Before that, they were a Professor of Chemistry and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Alberta from 2003 to 2013.
Hicham has also contributed significantly to research as a Senior Research Officer at the National Research Council Canada, where they focused on supramolecular science and engineering, nanomaterials, drug delivery, and sensor development. Additionally, they have held positions at Purdue University as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry and at The Scripps Research Institute as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow.
Hicham Fenniri received their High School Diploma in Science from Lycée Moulay Youssef Rabat in 1984. Hicham then went on to complete a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biochemistry and Chemistry at the University of Strasbourg from 1985 to 1989. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in Supramolecular Organic Chemistry at the same university from 1989 to 1990. Finally, they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Supramolecular Science and Engineering from the University of Strasbourg in 1994.
