Sahil Kerkar

Sahil Kerkar has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Sahil is currently working at Ocrolus as a Lead Data Scientist, where they have been since August 2023. Prior to this, Sahil held positions as a Senior Data Scientist - Credit and Fraud from October 2022 to August 2023 and as a Data Scientist - Credit and Fraud from November 2020 to October 2022, both at Ocrolus.

In addition to their experience at Ocrolus, Sahil has also worked on various data science projects on their own. Sahil created a Data Science Portfolio where they conducted in-depth analyses and created source code and relevant datasets. Some of these projects included analyzing the US Department of Education's School Survey on Crime and Safety and integrating data from Billboard, Spotify, and Genius APIs to identify trends in the evolution of rap music.

Before transitioning into data science, Sahil worked as a Cross-Asset Volatility Trader at Laurion Capital Management LP from June 2019 to May 2020 and as an Assistant Vice President in FX Options Trading at Barclays Investment Bank from August 2016 to May 2019. Sahil also had research and teaching assistant positions at Fuqua School of Business and Duke University from August 2013 to May 2016. Prior to that, Sahil gained experience as a Sales & Trading Summer Analyst at Barclays Investment Bank in the summer of 2015 and as an Actuarial Intern at Cigna in the summer of 2014.

Sahil Kerkar pursued a Master of Science degree in Analytics at the Georgia Institute of Technology from 2021 to 2022. Prior to this, they completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Economics at Duke University from 2012 to 2016.
